Paracas- Nasca,
tour, 3-daysThe 3- day tour takes you to the huge bird and sea
lion colonies of the rocky Ballestas Islands. Nearby we visit the
fascinating deserts and the beautiful beaches of the Paracas National
Reserve.
The town of Ica is the home to the countries best wines and has an
interesting regional museum about pre Inca cultures.
Nearby is the attractive oasis and summer resort of Huacachina.
Still unknown to the world is the mysterious sun calendar drawing near Palpa
and the nearby petroglyphs of Chichictara.
The highlight of the tour is the flight over the enigmatic Nasca-Lines.
Program
Day 1: Lima- Ballestas Islands-Paracas- Ica. From Lima we drive to the sea harbor of Pisco. Here a speed boat awaits us to take us to the Ballestas Islands. These Islands are inhabited by colonies of sea birds, sea-lions and penguins. Occasionally we can see an orca or a group of dolphins . Next we visit the Paracas National Reserve, which offers spectacular desert landscapes and beautiful beaches. We continue to Ica were we visit the regional museum, which has among others an exhibit on mummies. We stay in a comfortable hotel near Ica.
Day 2: Ica- Huacachina- Nasca
In the morning we visit the palm-fringed lake of Huacachina where you will
have the opportunity to make a buggy tour in spectacular desert landscapes
and/or sand board at the surrounding dunes . We stop at a viewpoint near
the town of Palpa to see the "Reloj Solar" a drawing in the desert
depicting a sundial. Nearby we visit the petroglyphs of Chichictara, many
anthropomorphic figures carved into volcanic rocks. Before arriving at
Nasca we stop at the Maria Reiche Museum , former home of the German
mathematician who studied the Nasca Lines for 50 years.
Day 3: Nasca Flight
In the morning we have a flight in a small plane over the enigmatic
Nasca- Lines. Here the Tour ends. We can arrange a bus ticket to Lima or
Arequipa leaving this day.
